Three alternatives for the 760 pixel wide header and footer are available: two CSS versions, one left-aligned and one centered, and a table version.
University units may use these headers and footers to replace their current template headers and footers. University Relations will no longer be coding full templates for the 760 width.
Download the 760 pixel wide headers and footers and determine which version you'll use. If you've coded your site using the template code from the last time the code was updated, and if you haven't modified that code too much, you should be able to find the old and replace it with the new.
An extensive READ ME document is included in the 760 download. Please refer to it for help in changing your code.
Most University Web sites should be using, at the least, the new header and footer—either 760 or 960 pixels wide—by the end of 2010.
Units that have application sites or other special circumstances that make it difficult to update their header and footer within that timeframe should contact University Relations.
