PowerPoint Standards

PowerPoint files created as a part of University business must convey the University of Minnesota’s image. This can be done by using the wordmark and through the use of maroon and gold.

Required for PowerPoint presentations:

  • The University of Minnesota wordmark must be on every slide.
  • The copyright statement must be on every slide.
Example: ©2008 Regents of the University of Minnesota. All rights reserved.
  • The equal opportunity and accessibility statements must be on at least one slide.
Example: The University of Minnesota is an equal opportunity educator and employer. This PowerPoint is available in alternative formats upon request. Direct requests to [name, department, address, phone number].
  • University logos, such as the wordmark and block M, must be presented in official University RGB colors based on the Web Color Standards to maintain optimal on-screen display of maroon (#7A0019) and gold (#FFCC33).
    • Do NOT place print logo files into PowerPoint as the colors will be incorrect.
    • Download official RGB logos from the Images Library.
    • RGB logos are under the name "electronic" in the gray box on the top of every logo subpage.

  • Rules regarding logos from the Graphic Standards site apply (for example: minimum size and buffer space).
  • When using PowerPoint to create printed pieces, do not use RGB colors; instead, follow rules presented in the Graphic Standards.
